Aleeah

Aleeah is Chris's niece. One year ago (at the wedding) she wanted nothing to do with me. She wouldn't come near me for pictures and definitely didn't like to talk to me. This trip, she talked to me constantly. She would see me coming around the corner and start yelling for me. She still didn't really like to come with anywhere, but talked alot! In this picture she is sitting in her little camping chair. She always had to pose with her legs up, it was sooooo cute!

We had a busy week! Make sure to check out all my new posts! There are lots of pictures and videos!

Our First Anniversary!

So, despite the weather being quite crappy most the week, we had a lot of fun. We headed to Unity on Thursday to spend the next couple days and ride 4-wheelers. My family left, but Zach stayed with us. He found a new love of 4-wheelers! I went riding one day, but mostly left it to the boys. I preferred staying in the trailer and staying warm. I will ride more when the weather decides to shape up! Our anniversary was okay. I spent the day trying to recreate our dinner from the reception. First, the beans I made didn't taste as good as Aunt Kris's. Second, the potatoes I made fell on the floor (cheese side on the carpet.) Lastly, I didn't have Aunt Joy's rolls. On the plus side, Chris made a great tri-tip and Kristen (mom's neighbor) made a yummy cake. Overall, the day turned out well. The best part was spending the entire week with my husband!

These are pictures from our reception 1 year ago! Sorry they are so fuzzy. I didn't have the right CD with pictures on it, I had to copy these, but you get the idea.

Poor Dogs :{

The dogs usually love to go camping. No kennels, no leashes, free runs. However, when you go to organized campgrounds, they have rules. My dogs couldn't quite understand what was going on. Peaches at least gave in and would lay down and relax. Sophie would just walk around in circles. Poor dogs :{

Paddle Boat Fiasco

So, we tried every day to go on the paddle boats. The weather felt okay at the campground, but by the time we reached the lake, we were all so cold. It didn't help knowing we would be out in the middle of the cold lake. Finally, we decided we didn't care and we were going to go anyway. Mom, Jenna, and I were in one boat, Zach & Braden in one, Corey, Cole, & Aleeah in one, Dad, Quinn, & Cameron (Cole's nephew) in one. Everyone else's boats were a little side heavy, mom & I balanced out pretty well. We didn't end up with much water in our boat. Unfortunately, Braden & Zach didn't fair so well!

Playground

The campground we stayed at had a playground. When weather permitted, we strayed down to the slides and swings. Zach, Dad, and I even took our turns. Of course, Jenna & Quinn spent lots of time down there!

Cold weather games

Since the weather wasn't quite like we wanted, we found something to do while bundled up. Down the road from our campsite, there were some go-carts. So much more fun than we had planned on. However, when we got there a school groups was there. We watched them go around 3 times before we got a chance. Jenna & I rode together. I felt like I was going fast, but after being lapped by the boys, I realized I needed more practice! I know the pictures are blurry, but it's because we were going so fast!

Jenna and the Deer

Jenna was following this deer and suddenly, it turned on her! It was pretty funny!

Swim, anyone?

Braden insisted that he was going to go swimming since we were a the lake. It never got warmer than 60 degrees, if that, but he wouldn't take "no" for an answer. During one of the few breaks in the rain, he decided to go for a swim. He claims it wasn't to bad, but the video tells another story. He can't even feel his toes as he is walking up, watch him trip.

Wallowa Lake

For our first anniversary, we decided to go on a long camping trip. It wasn't just any camping trip, we invited both of our families. We spent the first part of the week in Wallowa Lake. The deer ran around as if people weren't even there. They didn't seem to care that we were near by, even with Jenna and Quinn playing with their antlers like a steering wheel. The weather wasn't nearly as nice as we had hoped, but it didn't keep us from doing much. (Except the tram that I was scared to ride anyway!) We even hit the paddle boats on a day when there was a break in the rain! We ate campfire and dutch oven dinners and had some wonderful desserts.
