Quinn's First Game

So, it's sports time again. Not me, of course, Jenna and Quinn. Quinn had his first T-ball game this week. It was not a very eventful game, but fun to watch Quinn out on the field. He did more talking and waving, but did have a couple good stops. 4 year olds don't really understand the whole concept of the game, but they got better as the game progressed. Quinn kept saying "Did you get this on video?" Mom got some on video, I tried to get as many pictures as I could from as far away as he was most of the time. Jenna and Quinn both have games for the next month. Stay tuned for more pictures!
Quinn chewed on his fingernails more in the first half than playing the game.
He's the one in the background.

He did great his first time batting, he was able to make it to first base easily!

It was almost a catch!?!? At least he stoppped the ball!

This was the last play of the game. Coach told the kids to get the ball to homeplate to get some outs. So, of course all the kids ran for the ball at the same time. Check out Quinn on the far left when he isn't the one to get the ball!

First Camp Out of the Year

Chris and I started our camping season for the year. We drove to the Owyhee's and camped out for the night. We loaded up the trailer with the 4-wheeler, food, dogs, etc. I thought we would eat dinner that night and ride the 4-wheeler on Saturday. I had been up almost 30 hours by the time we got there. We had a great over-the-fire dinner and it tasted great. We parked near a creek and the dogs (well, Peaches had fun playing in it.) It was really a nice place (for being in the middle of the desert!) We started watching a movie and of course, I fell asleep.
Saturday, we slept til 10:00, after letting the dogs out at 7:30. Chris decided he had stuff to do, so instead of going riding, we left by 11:00. So, overall wasn't an exciting overnight, but fun anyway. It was great to let the dogs run free for a few hours and have a nice campfire dinner.
Of course, I forgot my camera again. I can't quite get into the habit of taking that thing everywhere. Since we got home so early, I decided to go watch Quinn play T-ball.

Flashback to the '80s

Chris has always been a fan of '80s rock. When he heard that Styx, REO Speedwagon, and Def Leppard were coming, he mentioned he would like to go. I knew that I would not know any of the songs, but I knew Chris would love to go and that was more important. I gave him tickets for Valentine's Day and he has been looking forward to it ever since. He was able to get off work early and we got to go to a nice dinner at Perigrine Restraunt in Kuna. We have never been there before, but my parents go there frequently. We had a great dinner and then headed to the concert. I couldn't believe the number of people that were there. We were seated by 6:45 and the seats were almost full then. Yet, there were people walking everywhere. I still don't know where they all sat. I am sad to say that I could count the number of songs I knew from all three groups on one hand. Chris, however, had a cheesy grin on his face the whole time and sang almost every song. That made it all worth it.

I forgot to take my camera, so I got this picture from Eden Beus's blog. Great pic, Eden! Thanks for letting me use it. I just can't believe I forgot my camera!?!

Tagged!

How did we meet: We were set up on a blind date by our best friends Jamie and Micky. I never expected to even like him, much less fall in love so quickly.
Where did you go on your first date: Our first date was going swimming at my grandma's house. Jamie and Micky hound me all summer to go swimming and then it ended being a double date. I had worked the night shift before the date and then slept all day. I knew we were going swimming, so I didn't put any make-up on or do my hair. I was soon regreting that decision. We played in the pool for a while then went to dinner at Hong Kong. Our second date was riding 4-wheelers. Needless to say, I put make-up on and did my hair. I had to make up that first impression!
How long have we been together: We met August 2004, we dated for almost 3 years before he decided to marry me.
Who eats more: I'd say Chris eats more, but unfortunately I am catching up with him. We have been together too long!
Who said I love you first: I can't even remember who said it first, isn't that terrible. I think it was me, but he always makes sure to say it more often now!
Who is taller: He is taller by quite a bit. I think I am 5'1" and he is 6' something.
Who sings better: I don't think either of us sing very well, but Chris definely sings much more. He loves to sings all the time.
Who is Smarter: I would have to say that I have more book smarts, but when it comes to everyday things, Chris has got me beat!
Who does the Laundry: I do most of the laundry, but Chris is great to help whenever necessary. However, for the most part, for it to get folded, I have to do it!
Who does the dishes: We both do the dishes, that is one of Chris's biggest things... he hates to have dirty dishes in the sink!
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed: If you are looking at the bed, I am on the right. However, when either of us are in the bed alone, I think we both just sleep in the middle.
Who pays the bills: We split the bills. We still have seperate accounts and each have our own handful of bills that we are responsible for. So far, it is working grat.
Who mows the Lawn: That would be Chris's job! I just play with the dogs in the yard, while he does the work.
Who cooks dinner: If anyone cooks, it's usually me. Chris will cook occasionally when I have to work. Unfortunately, we still eat out a lot, even though we live in Melba.
Who drives when we are together: Usually me, Chris drives a lot for work and by the time we go anywhere after work, he is sick of it. The only exception is when we are driving the truck and trailer, that is all Chris.
Whot is more stubborn: I would have to say I am more stubborn. Chris is quick to let go of things and get on with it. I hold onto things longer and much more of a pain.
Who kissed who first: I kissed him. We were riding 4-wheelers and I was sitting behind him. I guess I got bumped a little and kissed his neck! Opps!
Who proposed: He did, after some gentle suggestions. He showed up at my house after we had been broken up for a month, he had the ring and proposed then and there. For anyone that knows, I wasn't easy on him and made him wait another month or so before telling him "yes."
Who is more sensitive: I may be more stubborn, but I am also more sensitive. I cry easily and unfortunately, Chris has had to see it alot over the last few years!
Who has more friends: Chris. He has friends I have never met. He is always on the phone with someone new and then gets off the phone, "That was my friend, so and so." Usually it is a name of someone I have never heard of, but he is always talking like they are best friends!
Who has more siblings: I have more siblings. Chris has 2 brothers and 1 sister. I have 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Who wears the pants: I'd say we both do. We each have our own responsibilites, but don't do anything without talking it through with each other.

Now that is probably more than anyone wanted to know, so sorry. I now tag Beth, Natalie, and Joie, and Britt.

A day at the Park

So, Mom and I wanted to do something fun with the kids on Saturday. Avamor community was having a heritage festival and we thought it would be fun. They were supposed to have fun stuff for the kids, booths, and free food. After getting lost, (we were only driving to Horseshoe Bend, how could we get lost?) we found the place. We also found the long line for the kid games and the food. Needless to say, we decided to leave after barely walking around. We went to Jack-in-the-Box (they have grilled chicken strips, no breading!) and headed to the park. The girls, Quinn, and Jenna had just as much fun there. (Sorry, Jenna, I didn't get any pictures of you!) The girls were digging sand out of their shoes more than playing, it seemed.

Can we say spoiled?!?

On Friday night, when the triplets stayed the night, Jamie and Micky brought the girls over to play. We had tri-tip and shrimp for dinner with all the fixin's. (Except bread, of course. We ate rolls inside so the girls didn't see us eating them.) After dinner we all sat in the hot tub. It was really warm, probably because it got so warm during the day, but we had lots of fun. Then we gave the girls baths and got them ready for bed. After everyone's hair was combed and pajamas on, we made homemade ice cream. Can you say SPOILED?

Playing in Kimi's yard

Jasmine, Olivia, and Alexis loved playing in my yard. I may not have a big playset, but they didn't notice the size. They did notice I only had 2 swings (and there are 3 of them!) It was a beautiful day and they played out there until the sun went down!

What does it take?

What does it take to baby-sit 3 - 2 year olds for 2 days. I'll tell you. 2 bags of diapers, about 13 outfit choices, 6 pajamas, 9 pairs of shoes, an extra bed in the play room, and tons of toys. At the end of the weekend, a big pile of laundry and a bunch of diapers! But, in the end it is all worth it. P.S. Did I mention 6 blankets and 9 teddy bears or babies?

SNOW!?!?!?

What month is it? I thought the weatherman said is was finally going to start getting warm and this is what we woke up to last week! Chris saw the snow when he woke up for work and I didn't believe him, so here's the pictures to prove it....of course, the dogs had to play in it first!

Chris's Bird House

Chris has started collecting birdhouses. Most of them end up in the trailer, but this one I wanted to hang outside. Every time I try to take pictures of the birds, they fly away. I will continue to try to get pictures of the birds, but for now, you can see how cute the birdhouse is.

First mowing of the year!

Chris had to leave town this week, so he decided he better mow the lawn before he left. The dogs ran around the yard and helped as much as they could! It is going to be a long summer if we are already mowing the lawn, it wasn't even April yet!

It's SPRING!!!!!

Peaches stopped and posed for the camera, just like a little kid. It was sooooo cute!

We are so glad that it is finally warming up. The dogs can't be left alone in the yard without digging holes, so needless to say, they have been pretty couped up this winter. Now that it's sunny and warm outside, they can run and play (with chaperones, of course.) Sophie can't seem to leave Peaches alone when she wants to just lay and relax!
